How to install Arch Linux with full disk encryption

By Sam Sheridan - 21st November, 2020

I have recently installed Arch Linux on a few machines to replace Microsoft Windows. I am installing it one more time with the goal of how to demonstrate how to install Arch Linux with luks full disk encryption.

This time round I chose to go with the BTRFS file system which enables the use of a utility known as TImeshift which can be used to create instant snapshots before running system updates.

After the installation of Arch Linux is complete, I then proceed to quickly install a desktop environment on Arch. Personally I am not a fan of Gnome, linux desktop environments are personal preference, mine happens to be KDE so I finish the video off with how to install KDE Plasma on Arch Linux.
